United Way of Southeast Louisiana: Marsiglia Institute inducts 20 new Distinguished Fellows

NEW ORLEANS – The Nancy M. Marsiglia Institute of Justice, a 12-week course that brings the U.S. Constitution to life, inducted 20 new Distinguished Fellows during a graduation ceremony at Loyola University New Orleans College of Law on Dec. 1. 

Launched in 2018 by United Way of Southeast Louisiana and Loyola University New Orleans College of Law with a mission of reclaiming civil discourse, the Marsiglia Institute brings together community members with diverse backgrounds and ideologies to study the U.S. Constitution and civic engagement. 

Teams of participants - both in-person and virtual - presented oral arguments on Constitutional questions posed by sitting state and federal judges during the graduation event.

“The Marsiglia Institute is one of the best programs I have participated in and one of the best educational experiences I’ve ever had, giving my basic knowledge more detail and more nuance while exposing me to speakers that expanded my thinking and thus my opportunities to use what I learned,” shared Distinguished Fellow Angela Theresa Henderson.
